Serge Lowrider
Introducing Serge Nidegger, also known as Serge Lowrider - an exceptionally talented and versatile craftsman who excels in various artistic fields such as screen printing, letter painting, wallpaper restoration, and more. He refuses to be labeled or categorized, as his remarkable talents are diverse and hard to define. Serge's creations flawlessly blend Swiss and American influences, displaying his unwavering passion for the arts. Alongside his wife Valerie, who shares the space, Serge's work exudes his steadfast dedication and precision, much like a Stephen Curry free-throw combined with artistic finesse. We are thrilled to have Serge as our regular screen printer artist, who splits his time between his atelier in Fribourg and his home resort La Berra, in the Fribourg Pre-Alps.
Roland Cachot: First track
At 82 years old, Roland Cachot is back to his favourite place: Ovronnaz, in Valais. He spends his entire winter there, and a good part of the year. If you've already been to the Grand Muveran region, it's impossible not to have seen Roland, a true local legend and a real inspiration. With his constant malicious smile and a face weather-beaten by the mountain’s sun, Roland Cachot speaks little but well. Full of common sense, he embodies the simplicity and finesse of our Alps. Filmed by his son Tim Cachot and Jules Guarneri. Edited by Benoît Goncerut.
Sarah from the Charpoua refuge, Chamonix
At the end of August, we went up to see the Charpoua hut in Chamonix one last time before it is dismantled and rebuilt in the same place in the summer of 2023. After crossing the remnants of the Mer de Glace, we took a path equipped with ladders (100 metres vertical), then joined the moraine, heading for the hut. After four hours of walking, we are welcomed by our friend Sarah, the captain of the place. We're being coddled and we're taking advantage of the opportunity to immortalise this mythical place, which, as you read these lines, has now disappeared to give life to its new incarnation. Same place, same concept, for next year: still no electricity or running water, but freshly waterproofed with also new windows. Luckily, we still had some battery left on our phone to show you some small fragments of life in this legendary 24 square meters & thousand star refuge.
