Serge Lowrider

Serge Lowrider

Serge Nidegger, also known as Serge Lowrider, is a skilled craftsman who excels in various artistic fields, including screen printing, letter painting, wallpaper restoration, and more. He dislikes being labeled or categorized, as his remarkable talents are diverse and hard to define. You may have already encountered his work on anything from a sign for the best local coffee shop, to a mural in the city center, or a painting in an art gallery. We are pleased to introduce you to Serge, our skilled silkscreen artist, who splits his time between his workshop in Fribourg and his home resort La Berra, in the Pre-Alps.

Serge's creations are a perfect blend of Swiss and American influences. Alongside his wife Valérie, their passion for art is evident in their workshop, where they specialize in various fields including murals, silk screens, embroidery and t-shirt design. Much like a Lebron James free-throw, smothered in the the sweetness of a Gruyère double cream, Serge's work reflects his dedication and precision.

Serge has been a part of our crew for 20 years. He started by printing stickers for our first project and since then, he has assisted with all of our endeavors, including printing our Time of My Life or We Ride in Iran t-shirts and sweatshirts. Serge has always been an inspiration to us since our teenage years. At age 50, he has the curiosity of a 10-year-old kid and the wisdom of an elder. He's constantly learning and loves to share his knowledge of ancient techniques, such as the precise application of gold leaf. When he talks about his passions, his eyes light up mischievously.

On camera, Serge expresses his reluctance to adopt an "all-digital" approach, his disgust for planned obsolescence, and his preference for freehand painting: "It should be forbidden to use tape. It's a waste of time, messy, and leaves a trash bag full of waste every time!"

Serge is a detail-oriented craftsman who values quality over mass production. He constantly seeks ways to maximize his time and productivity in Switzerland. If you share Serge's commitment to innovation and excellence, we believe your craft will endure and thrive. Of course, this also requires the support of everyone involved.

 Wishing you nice spring adventures.
