Anne — Backside Verbier
There’s the Verbier known around the world: a mecca for freeride, steep lines, traffic, packed terraces and a constant buzz of activity.
And then, further down the mountain, slightly off the beaten track, there’s another side of Verbier. A quieter, less accessible one, shaped by silence and forest. Anne's Verbier.
We take you there to meet this free-spirited woman in her seventies, fiercely independent, her skin weathered by the Alpine sun and her hands toughened by years of working with leather.
At Anne’s, there’s a workshop, tools and materials. Everything you need to make, repair and transform. Once you’re there, it simply feels good. We eat potatoes from the garden, seasoned with a few Alpine herbs. The soapstone stove warms us as we drink our coffee.
Inside, a huge rock face forms one of the walls of the house. It could feel raw, almost intimidating. Instead, it’s strangely reassuring, as if the mountain itself were watching over the room.
It’s in this world that we photographed Anne wearing the Laiva, from our new optical collection. Living in the Alps also shapes the way we create our products: simple, durable objects made to accompany those who live here.
A fine yet robust titanium frame, elegant without trying to be, built to last without ever overdoing it. A frame much like Anne herself: precise, distinctive and free. With character.
