Last spring, Mat Schaer and Arnaud Cottet, joined by the German skier Jochen Mesle, took advantage of a few days of good weather to settle on the Saleinaz glacier, in the La Fouly area.
The idea was to go on an expedition close to home, rather than going to a summit on the other side of the planet. The idea was also to show that elsewhere is sometimes here, in our Alps, a few dozen kilometers from home.
To immortalize this adventure, who better than their friend and film director Jules Guarneri? While he had sworn to himself not to make any more ski films, Jules finds himself, once again, embarked on an alpine expedition.
Up there, confined for five days, with exceptional snow conditions for the period, it's an opportunity for him to question himself and this practice that has been repeated for so many years: making ski films. The angle of the film was found, all that remained was to make it.
